17th century sugar plums were a plum-shaped confection made of multiple layers of sugar coating surrounding a small seed. 300 or so years later the term began to be used for confections made of dried fruit and nuts and rolled in sugar. We never asked where Russell got the inspiration for his 1980s version but we are happy he showed us how he made them. Dried apricots, dates and walnuts are blended together with a little molasses and hand dipped in chocolate. Designed to dance on your tongue and sweeten your dreams.
